I have been able to do more reading over the last 3 months then I normally do. Some of it is serious, {What I am reading now} but honestly most of it is just fun.

I was going though a Readers Digest and some of the tips for a cooking / hosting a dinner party was pretty funny and helpful. Here are some of the good ones.

Wise words for a dinner party

1. When you taste your dish and something is missing it's normally acid.

2. Improvising with herbs or vinegars yes, improvising with baking soda or backing powered no. [I never lean]

3. Being cooked for in someones home is one of the finrer pleasures in life.

4. Herbs in the salad.

5. Resist the urage to apologize when you are cooking for people. Most people will not notice anything is wrong unless you bring it up. It can come across rude.

6. Ask the question: "What would you do if you won the lottery this week?"

7. Kitchen chairs should be red. Or at least fun.

8. The sharpest knife is the safest knife

9. For those entertaining: Chicken is kind of a bummer

10. Throw shrimp into lightly boiling water and cook it for exactly 3 min to cook.

11. With out crunch [nuts, snap peas, radishes etc] salad can only reach half it's potential.

12. There is no such thing as owning too many tinny bowles

13. Desert should be cake

And I personally think coffee should be served after dinner and cheese before.

Doesn't this  make you want to host something?

Happy Friday!

P.S. Did you know if you lick your lips before you take a drink you will not leave a lip stick stain on you glass? True.
