We got the keys to our new house when in the air. It just added to the story of us. It was a little hard because I just really wanted to start painting! But our vacation had been planned for a while and people are more important then paint. Our people in San Diego are MUCH more important to us then our house! So on we went. And it was blessed, of course. Friends are a blessing. I NEVER want my house to be more important then people. And it can be a fight sometime. I already feel it. So lame. My heart needs a lot of Jesus.
I realized that things will never be perfect. Ever. My house will never be to the point where I can't think of anything to do. But I will always say yes to people coming over. Freeing. And humbling. Not perfect. I can't do everything. Our house will have the purpose of loving people, it does not need to be spotless to do that.
That was put to the test this week....my in-laws are staying in our half painted, unfinished house. We are still in out apartment. But they are great and flexible and sooo helpful {because honestly Rowan and I have not idea how to paint or fix or do handy things like that yet} They are helping a lot and it's great how much we are getting done! But my prideful heart does wish I could have my house put together for my mother in law :D But those dreams never come true. And it's ok that they don't. I am thankful for grace!
Want to see some pics?
